To unlock virus, go to Arcade, then select Arcade League, then select Amateur League. Scroll down to the option that says: “Too hot to handle” (with a picture of a monkey on fire). Beat all of those options with at least a bronze trophy to unlock virus mode.

The following April, a Crytek spokesperson announced the game was no longer in development. That project became TimeSplitters Rewind, an upgraded version of the multiplayer maps of the first three ‘Splitters games.
