Yes they do unless the console you have is damaged. They do, but with little ability due to WiiConnect24 being disconnected. If you really wanted to you can view a badly loaded website on the Browser Channel, or just play games offline.

People do still play the Wii, because it has sold so many units . Everyone has one because of the wide variety of titles, and it’s not a hardcore console, meaning that it is for casual play. People however homebrew the console so that way they can emulate their favorite games with a variety of different controllers.
